Lizzy's will be participating in the Dog Days of Summers at Doc's! Doc's has a great patio, you can hang out, enjoy the playscape, and support a great cause!

The event will have:
Doggie pools with dog toys for pets
Healthy Pets passing out treats and judging our Dog Costume Contest
Popsicles for customers & dog pops provided by local Cold Ones Pops
Austin Eastciders passing out samples and hanging with our customers
Dog Bowls for families and kids to paint. The dog bowls are a minimum of $2 donation, with 100% of proceeds being donated back to our Dog Charity Partner.

July's Dog of the Month! Meet Hayes! Hayes is our Dog of the Month for July. Come on to Kriser's in the Aboritum on July 1 to meet this cutie. He will be there form 11 to 1pm. He is only a year old. You can read more about Hayes here.

First 2017 Lizzy's Fundraiser! July 8, from 2pm to 5 pm at Lazarus Brewing 1902 E 6th St, Austin, TX 78702 . We will have silent auction, raffle, pics with your dog, great Lazarus Brewing beer and food. Lazarus is going to donate a portion of their proceeds from that time to Lizzy's. Come enjoy the Dog Days of summer with a cold brew! Treat yourself and treat the dogs at Lizzy's! Did you know that the funds to support Lizzy's come almost exclusively from private donations?

A Sorrowful Good Bye to Sweet Mika Mika's recovery was amazing after his bilateral FHO. He was rocking his physical therapy. After being with LHH for six months, Mika had a tough Thanksgiving weekend, and renal failure took its toll and we had to say goodbye. Mika was such a sweetie with a huge presence and now there is a huge void. |

A Special Project Thank You! Since Gracie is such a shy/nervous little girl, she got little to no interest. Grace and Patrick Watson fostered her for two weeks for us as an experiment. Thanks to their help and information, Gracie's adoption was recently finalized with a wonderful family. Thank you for being great friends of LAH. We could not do this without you. Gracie thanks you, also.

Sweet goodbye to Noodle the Poodle. No matter her life before Lizzy's Animal Hospice , Noodle left this world loved and cared for. That was our mission and if she felt loved, we succeeded. Thanks to all who loved her and checked up on how she was doing. Below is a picture of Noodle with her foster Mom.

As the new year quickly approaches, we at Lizzy's Animal Hospice for Companion Animals want you to know how deeply we appreciate you being part of our furry family!
Lizzy's Animal Hospice for Companion Animals came into existence because so many senior pets never left the kill shelters. They were condemned to a sad and inevitable fate since most mainstream animal rescues labeled them "unadoptable," ignoring them while walking towards the babies and younger ones.
Fast forward three years! With the generous help of our supporters, Lizzy's Animal Hospice for Companion Animals continues to provide love, care, and a compassionate end-of-life to many who would have had just 3 days to live, simply because they were unwanted and old.
Although we said a compassionate goodbye to a number of LHH pups and friends of LHH pups this year, we are thrilled to share with you that those we have placed in forever homes and forever foster families are happily living the lives they deserve .... with their very own families.
Our hope is we can count on donors like you to continue to support our mission, which is to provide a home to the most vulnerable companion animals in a shelter environment, or who would ultimately end up in a shelter, which are those who are elderly, terminally ill, and homeless.

We had a great time at Snout by Snoutwest. The weather was perfect and the LHH dogs and volunteers had fun! We met a lot of people and a lot of people got to meet our sweet dogs and learn about Lizzy's Animal Hospice . LHH dogs in attendance: Mia, Fiona, Noodle, Jet, and Zoli.

Today Boscoe is getting his first round of heart worm treatment. Tomorrow is the second. After that, it will be smooth sailing and he will be ready for that awesome forever family. So, keep your eyes and ears open for that lucky family who will see how handsome he is and wanna scoop him up.

It always lifts our hearts when we receive any type of donation from individuals who, when they are mourning the loss of their best friend, try to think of how to best honor them, and reach out to the pups at Lizzy's Animal Hospice .

A GIFT FOR THOR. A brand new dog bed was recently donated specifically for Thor. As you can tell, he is not used to the plush and poshness of this spectacular bed. Thor did figure out it is more comfortable to have his tail hanging off the bed instead of his paw. This is the face of a happy boy!
